Getting Here

  • There is no public transport out to the site. The nearest train stations are Ely or Littleport - Ely does have a taxi rank, Littleport does not. Cabs are about £12-15 from Ely Station so we recommend you share if possible.
  • Local Taxi firms

A10 Taxis – 01353 661010 & 01353 666150

Fencabs – 01353 669 966

Alan’s Taxis – 01353 665050

  • Mad Hatters Campsite is on Second Drove, off Branch Bank Road, which we in the fens, lovingly call a bit bumpy. Beware the pot holes and the camber, the road is not as smooth as you think!

  • IN ANY THING WITH A HIEGHT OF 2.7M OR MORE DO NOT GO UNDER STUNTNEY BRIDGE. You will get stuck, you will make the local news, you will never hear the end of it. It is in the top 3 most bashed bridges in Britain. Please also remember that Ely is now in a 20mph zone so watch out!

  • From the A142, take the A10 towards Littleport. At the  Hive Leisure Centre/McDonalds roundabout turn right on the B1411 to Ely, then left at the next roundabout onto Cam Drive. Ely is a 20 MPH city please be careful. Follow Cam Drive going over the first roundabout, left at the second onto Lynn Rd, then right onto King’s Avenue. Follow this straight down to the roundabout, going over and onto Ely Rd (the B1382). You will cross over 2 railway crossing before Prickwillow Rd goes over a small bridge. Turn left after the bridge onto Branch Bank Rd. About 1 mile down on your right is Second Drove and Mad Hatters Campsite
